“Cristiano Ronaldo is my very good friend” — Davido

Nigerian superstar singer, Davido whose real name is David Adeleke, speaks on on being a close friend with Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese footballer.

In a recent appearance on the ABTalks podcast hosted by Anas Bukhash, Davido referred to Ronaldo as a close friend and expressed his support for him.

He also criticized those who insulted Ronaldo following Portugal’s elimination from the World Cup. Recounting the incident, O.B.O emphasized his personal connection to Ronaldo, stating that the trolls’ abusive comments online affected him deeply, considering their friendship.

“Look at Cristiano Ronaldo when he left the World Cup. He is my friend, by the way. He is my very good friend. When he left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, and the trolls were abusing him so much, even after everything that he has done,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that Davido paid homage to Cristiano Ronaldo in his popular 2017 song “Fall,” and interestingly, Davido is the only African artist followed by Ronaldo on Instagram.
