America imposes ban on some individuals who undermined 2023 elections
Antony Blinken, the Secretary of State of the United States of America, affirms the country’s unwavering commitment to providing support for Nigeria as it imposes a ban on some individuals who undermined the 2023 elections.
This announcement comes almost a year after the US government had promised to enforce visa restrictions on any individual who instigated violence during the Nigerian general election in 2023.
In a tweet posted on his official Twitter account on May 15, 2023, Blinken also revealed that the US government had imposed restrictions on certain individuals who had undermined the presidential election held in 2023.
“We have imposed visa restrictions on specific individuals who undermined the democratic process during Nigeria’s 2023 elections. We remain committed to supporting Nigerian aspirations to strengthen democracy and rule of law,” he wrote.
