Man arrested for killing girlfriend who planned to dump him

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested a young man who killed his girlfriend who planned to dump him for another man.

According to the spokesperson who spoke for the command, DSP Muhammad Jalige, he disclosed that the suspect was about to be lynched by a mob on the 21st of April, 2023 before he was rescued.

DSP Jalige revealed that the Command received a disturbing call that there was a mob action at NEPA Roundabout in Kaduna metropolis where an unruly crowd were about to lynch a man. He added in the statement that the operatives mobilized themselves and rushed to the scene.

“On getting there they met the suspect lying unconscious and surrounded by a crowd,” he said.

DSP Jalige revealed that the suspect attacked his girlfriend of Old Command Secondary and Nursery School, Sokoto Road, Kaduna with a machete and inflicted multiple degrees of injury on her face, arms and hands. He was reportedly have chopped off her left arm for planning to dump him for another man.

The victim was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, for treatment where a doctor on duty confirmed she was dead.

“The corpse of the lady has been deposited at the same hospital, for an autopsy,” Jalige said.
