3 killed as gunmen storm Lagos’ residential estate
About three persons have been killed by some unknown gunmen after they stormed Gowon Estate, Ipaja area of Lagos state.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state’s police command spokesperson while addressing the incident confirmed it. According to him, the incident happened late night.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Gowon Estate Police Division received a call from some residents of Naval Block of the estate informing them about the shootings and killing of three people by the unknown gunmen on 41 Road, Union Bank Block in the estate.
Addressing the issue, he said;
“While at the scene of the shooting, the police recovered nine expended cartridges and a bunch of keys.
“At Igando General Hospital, one unknown male corpse was recovered and evacuated to Mainland General Hospital, Yaba for preservation and autopsy.
“Further information given to the police revealed that two male corpses were taken away by their families.
”One male survivor, Doba Ngoze, is currently on admission at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba,” he said.
