“I had a comfortable life back home” — Nigerian bemoans struggle after relocating to UK
Nigerian man who recently relocated to the UK laments the struggle he’s facing while expressing the comfort he had before moving abroad.
A video making the rounds on social media captured the experience of a young Nigerian man who immigrated to the UK to join his wife who has been there for years.
The man could be heard speaking in the Igbo dialect complaining about the struggle of wearing sweaters and gloves because of the cold.
He pressed on to complain about the cost of rent while comparing Nigeria to the UK where it cost him 1,400 pounds monthly for a room; a rough estimate of almost N1.3M.
“I was in Nigeria enjoying and living in a duplex and I came to London, they’re telling me just one room for 1,400 pounds which is almost N1.3 million.
“Now I am just going nearby to buy something but I must wear shoes. Still wear sweater, cap, and hand gloves as if I am travelling. Whilst it’s just this close place I’m going to.
“What kind of rubbish country is this? If I tell people in Nigeria not to come, them no go understand,” he said.
His wife could be heard in the background making fun of how the decision to relocate was his.
