Some unidentified hoodlums have reportedly set ablaze the Umuchu police station, along the Umuchu-Achina road in Anambra State.

According to reports, these hoodlums invaded and set ablaze with the police on Sunday morning, January 8.

Reports say that the Umuchu police station was recently renovated by a social group identified as members of the Umuchu Improvement Union, UIU after the station was destroyed during the #EndSARS protests in 2020 by some protesters.

The spokesman for the state police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident and also disclosed that there was no record of casualty.

“The police station is still under renovation before the hoodlums came in the early hours today (Sunday) and set it abl@ze. The situation is under control and calm has returned in the area,” he said. ”
