I still think I can perform at a high level – Modric speaks on retirement from international football
37-year-old Croatian football star, Luka Modric has said he’s not yet ready to hang up his international boots yet.
Modric who captained his side to a third-place finish at the 2022 World Cup, with Croatia beating Morocco 2-1 in Qatar on Saturday, December 17, talked about retirement from international football after the match was concluded.
The Real Madrid star told beIN Sports that he still he thinks he can perform at a high level.
He said;
“About my future. I don’t know if I will play at Euro 2024 in Germany. We will see. I need to go step by step.
“I am enjoying the national team. I am happy. I still think I can perform at a high level. I want to continue at least until the Nations League and then after there will be time to think about the Euros. Now it’s go step by step and continue at least until the Nations League and after we will see.”
