Fan thrown out during Portugal’s match against Morocco for throwing water on Cristiano Ronaldo
Days after Portugal was knocked out of the 2022 World Cup by Morocco after a quarterfinal match played on Saturday, December 10, it’s been gathered that a fan was kicked out of Al Thumama Stadium for throwing water on Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo was still on the bench when the incident happened. Photos shared online showed the fan throwing water in the Manchester United legend’s direction from a plastic bottle.
He (the fan) was then confronted by those sitting next to him in the stands afterward. A video then emerged showing the fan being held back by security staff.
Some media platforms reported that he was escorted out of the stadium following the incident. Ronaldo later came on as a substitute in the 51st minute but Portugal still lost the match by 1-0.
