Tinubu said campaigning in the South-East is ‘waste of time and money’ – Former SGF, Babachir Lawal alleges

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal has alleged that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, once said that campaigning in the South-East was a waste of time and resources.

The APC member who broke off with Tinubu after he announced a fellow Muslim as his running mate for the 2023 polls, alleged that the APC presidential candidate made the comment during the party’s primaries.

Lawal while analyzing Tinubu’s chances in the imminent February presidential polls on a Channels Television program, also insisted that the former Lagos state Governor stands no chance of winning the election.

He also endorsed Labour Party’s Peter Obi, while stating that he remains a member of the APC. Lawal said during the interview;

“During the convention, he didn’t even allow us go the South-East.

“He said it was a waste of time and money.”
