I don’t want to sell Cristiano Ronaldo – Erik Ten Hag speaks after recent clash
Despite their recent clash which saw Cristiano Ronaldo storm off Old Trafford before full-time of Manchester United’s Wednesday’s 2-0 Premier League win over Tottenham, the Red Devils Coach, Erik Ten Hag, has said that he doesn’t want to sell the Portuguese football star.
Addressing a press conference yesterday after reports of Ronaldo training with the club’s U-21s after being dropped from Manchester United squad and training ahead of a clash with Chelsea today made headlines, Ten Hag insisted he does not want to sell Ronaldo, but refused to confirm when he will return to the squad.
“I count on Cristiano,” Ten Hag said. When asked if he thinks Ronaldo will be there or if he wants to be there for the rest of the season, he simply replied “Both”.
The Dutch coach however added that he and Ronaldo would “talk first” but he does not want to leave him out of the squad any longer than necessary.
Erik Ten Hag also suggested that Ronaldo’s exclusion won’t be longer than Monday. He said;
“I don’t think so, no. That is not my purpose. I said I don’t want to miss him and I want him to be in the squad and I want him to get involved for every game because he has an impact.”
