Usain Bolt congratulates Amusan for breaking world record

The world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt has congratulated Tobi Amusan, who became the first Nigerian athlete to win a World Athletics Championship gold.

Tobi had stormed to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles in Oregon on Sunday.

Quoting a tweet confirming Tobi’s win at the semis by the World Athletics official page, Bolt lauded the champion on Twitter.

He tweeted with emoticons of the Nigerian flag and applauses saying: “Congrats.”

After Tobi’s performance in the finals, the Jamaican athlete also wrote, “Superb #Tobi.”

Nonetheless, Tobi Amusan also eulogized herself while speaking about her victory in the competition. She said: “The goal was to come out and to win this gold.

“I believe in my abilities, but I was not expecting a world record at these championships. You know, the goal is always just to execute well and get the win. So the world record is a bonus.”
