Kaduna Train Attack: Ango Abdullahi’s son, Sadiq rendered almost unrecognizable after spending 3 months in captivity

On July 9th, 2022, seven abductees from the infamous Kaduna-Abuja train attack were released.

Among those said to be released by the terrorists include Ango Abdullahi’s son, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi; a foreign national of Pakistani origin, Dr Muhammad Abuzar Afzal; Bosede Olurotimi, Abubakar Zubairu, Alhassan Sule, Muhammad Daiyabu Paki and Aliyu Usman.

Sadiq, whose father is the Convener of the Northern Elders’ Forum, was kidnapped from the Kaduna train in March 28.

He was almost unrecognisable when he reunited with his family on Saturday, July 9th. Sadiq’s release came after he had spent three months in captivity.

It would be recalled that in a video released in May, Sadiq, who won the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) ticket for Kaduna legislative election while in captivity, had begged for the Federal Government’s intervention, saying most of the 62 abducted victims were sick.

He was quoted as saying: “We have been here for 62 days. Most of us here are sick and we are not in good condition. Everyday, the situation gets deteriorates. We are appealing to the Federal Government to come to our aid before we start losing our lives.”
