Man narrates encounter with boy who said any salary earner that can’t save up to 20k monthly is extravagant

Twitter user identified by his handle as @Chimsky1 narrates his encounter with a young boy who said any salary earner that cannot save up to 20k monthly is extravagant.

Narrating his conservation with the young boy, he disclosed that initially, he was impressed with such a meticulous thought or idea that the boy possessed especially after the boy told him he saves 70k every month.

Things however went wrong when the boy revealed that he was living with his brother who apparently takes care of all the bills and caters for him as well.

He wrote:

“Yesterday I had a conversation with someone and he said; “any salary earner who cannot save up to 20k every month is extravagant.” I asked him how much he earns every month, he said he earns 150k and he saves 70k monthly. I was impressed.

You earn 150k and save 70k every month and you live in Lekki Lagos …(so I thought). “How do you manage to save so much?” I asked him. He said he keeps 10k for data, 50k for whatever he might want to buy within the month and 20k for his girlfriend.

I asked if he doesn’t remove anything for food, bills, transportation and other things. Nigga smiled and said he lives in his elder brother’s house, so the wife cooks and even packs lunch for him…”
