NGO drags Femi Falana to International Criminal Court over involvement in #EndSARS campaign
Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria and rights activist, has been dragged to the International Criminal Court, ICC, by an nongovernmental organization, Make Nigeria Better Initiative MNBI.
The petition dated November 4, 2020, and filed by Joseph Nwaegbu, Esq. a Senior Associate of Pathfind Attorneys on behalf of MNBI and addressed to the Office of Madame Fatou Bensouda, the Prosecutor, International Criminal Court (ICC), Falana was accused of instigating the #EndSARS crisis that claimed lives of several Nigerians.
The initiative also alleged that Falana has continued to maintain an antagonistic position against Nigeria’s security forces, especially the military ever since the country returned to democracy.
According to their petition, they described the role Falana played in the #EndSARS protest as not only ignoble but criminal.
This is coming weeks after Falana disclosed that he and other Barristers are compiling evidences to ensure that Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai is tried before the ICC.
