COVID-19: Gov Abiodun approves full reopening of all businesses in Ogun
The governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has approved the reopening of all businesses partially/fully closed down since the last few months due to COVID-19.
The establishments providing accommodation for tourists or entertainment, restaurants, eateries, fast food, lounges, bars, and cinemas in the State can now operate fully within the state.
In March, the governor ordered the closure of public places including churches, markets, hotels, and others as part of measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
However, in a statement released on Wednesday, October 28, by the Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, the Governor said the religious centers and other public places have been granted permission to open fully following the drop in COVID-19 infection cases.
‘‘Government is aware of the excruciating implications of COVID-19 lockdown but we have emplaced measures and improved on testing to stem the tide. Empirical field research indicates that we have managed to stem community spread and treatment of the virus very well.
“We are convinced that opening of schools and entertainment centres would not harm our people. We would continue to monitor the development” the statement quotes the governor as saying
