#EndSARS: “Jubril is at home watching his pre-recorded video” – Nigerians reacts to Buhari’s speech
Social media users have criticized President Muhammadu Buhari over the live national broadcast on the unrest in the country in relation to the #EndSARS protest.
The president had on Thursday at 7 pm addressed the nation on a televised live broadcast. In the 13 minutes duration broadcast, President Buhari addressed key issues in the country, one of which is how Nigerians “misconstrued” the “promptness” with which the government acted on the End SARS demands “as a sign of weakness.”
He added that “human lives have been lost” and properties have been destroyed “in the name of the End SARS protests” and further urged the youth to terminate all protest activities.
In reaction to the President’s speech, Nigerians on social media condemned the speech as nothing but a pre-recorded video session. Some users further criticized the speech for totally disregarding the Lekki shootings.
