UPDATED: Trending Robbery Video Happened In Abuja, Not Lekki…
Earlier, we reported a gang of armed robbers met their waterloo when they went to rob in an estate in Lekki, not knowing that a senior police officer was in the vicinity.
We apologise for publishing without confirming further. The incident happened but, it happened in Abuja.
Apparently we have been informed that the trending video, which originated from Twitter was a scene of a robbery that happened in Dawaki, Abuja, in February 2020.
This is an old video and a lie, as this ugly incidence happened at Dawaki, Abuja earlier this year. The robbers couldn’t get into the main house and they exchanged fire. Occupant is my colleague at work. https://t.co/qUaN4fbicC
