“There Is No Such Thing In The Bible As Church Wedding” – Daddy Freeze
Nigerian religious critic, Daddy Freeze claims that there is nothing in the Holy Bible like a “church wedding”.
The OAP shared this opinion in a post on his Instagram page as he answered questions from a fan regarding marriage.
In the post, Daddy Freeze shared a screenshot of the question asked by one of his followers.
The follower wanted to know if it would be wrong to do family introduction and court wedding without the white wedding which is often referred to as the church wedding.
Daddy Freeze in his response said that there is nothing wrong with the court wedding and family introduction only and added that the most important thing is that he marries his wife before God.
The controversial radio show host then asserted that there is no such thing as a church wedding in scripture as the church was never instructed to conduct weddings.
He wrote:
“My response:
“What really matters is marrying your wife before God. Under the new covenant, we are all priests (1 Peter 2:5) since you are the priest of your own home, conduct the marriage with your wife before God BY YOURSELF!
“All other rites are optional. Court is an important option I advise #FreeNation to go for, along with introduction/knocking on the door and carrying wine for the unification of the two families.
“But remember all are optional; what is compulsory is the marriage before God as seen in the instance of Adam and Eve (Gen2:23) and in the red scriptures. (Mark10:6-8)
“There is NO such thing as a ‘church wedding’. The church was never instructed by God, Christ, the disciples or the Holy Spirit to conduct weddings, what people are practicing is a figment of the fertile imagination of pastors with no recourse to the scriptures.
“◄ Mark 7:7 ► New Living Translation. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’
“◄ Isaiah 29:13 ► New International Version. The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.”
