Corps member laments as NYSC serves him query for failing to report to PPA after accident

A youth corps member has expressed frustration after the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) issued him a query for failing to report to his Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) following an accident.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), he detailed his ordeal while responding to a similar discussion about NYSC experiences.

He explained that he was recently involved in an accident, which prevented him from resuming at his PPA.

According to him, he followed due process by informing both his PPA and Local Government Inspector (LGI) about his condition. However, despite their initial understanding, he was later served a query.

Few weeks ago, this happened to me, returning from my PPA. One week later, they served me a query because my PPA was visited, and I wasn’t on the ground. Me wey dey recover for house,” he wrote.

“I promise you I did both. Walahi, my PPA understood and sympathized with me (perhaps because I’m not being paid). LG office said it was well with me that week, then slammed me with a query the next week.”

As his post gained traction online, many concerned individuals flooded the comment section to share their thoughts on his experience.

@cee_4ourr: “They’ll tell you why not go to the NHIS hospital they gave you.”

@MzTaiwoO: “This cannot happen in Lagos state during my own time oo. All you have to do is write to your PPA and your LG office. If you didn’t do that, they will serve you na.”
