Peller apologizes for calling Runtown an ‘up-and-coming artist’

Popular TikToker Peller has publicly apologized after facing intense backlash for referring to Nigerian Afrobeats star Runtown as an “up-and-coming artist.”

The controversy began during a recent livestream when Peller dismissed a suggestion to feature Runtown, implying that the singer was unknown and unsuccessful.

His remarks sparked outrage across social media, with many criticizing him for disrespecting an artist who has made significant contributions to the music industry.

Following the backlash, Peller has now tendered a public apology, admitting that he was aware of Runtown’s impact but had spoken out of ignorance. He explained that he was too young to fully appreciate Runtown’s music when the singer was dominating the charts.

Speaking during a livestream with his girlfriend, Elizabeth Amoudu, Peller acknowledged his mistake and pleaded for forgiveness.

“When I was hearing Runtown’s music that time, I was too young to even use a phone. Peller never come town when Runtown dey Runtown. Please, forgive the poor boy. Let him breathe. God won’t shame us. I’m sorry, my brothers and sisters,” he said.
