Bayer Leverkusen crash out of Champions League in 5-0 aggregate vs Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich cruised into the Champions League quarter-finals, completing a 5-0 aggregate victory over Bayer Leverkusen.

This comes after a 2-0 second-leg win at the BayArena.

Leverkusen, missing their key playmaker Florian Wirtz, lacked creativity in attack despite showing more energy than in the first leg.

Defensive discipline kept them in the game early, but as halftime approached, their chances of a comeback dropped.

The second half started disastrously for Xabi Alonso’s men, as Harry Kane capitalized on a defensive mix-up to open the scoring from a set-piece.

With the tie effectively over, Leverkusen briefly raised their level, but Alphonso Davies sealed the win with a well-worked team goal, exposing Leverkusen’s defense once again.

Across both legs, Leverkusen struggled, with nearly every Bayern goal stemming from individual mistakes.
