‘Be hungry or go somewhere else’ – Kompany warns Kane, other Bayern Munich stars

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has issued a warning to his squad, including star striker Harry Kane, insisting that only committed players will have a place at the club.
Speaking to FIFA’s official website, Kompany emphasized the importance of hunger and dedication, stating: “Be hungry or go somewhere else. It’s very simple.”
The former Manchester City captain, who took charge of Bayern ahead of the 2024/25 season, is tasked with restoring the club’s dominance both domestically and in Europe.
Despite leading Bayern to the top of the Bundesliga and securing a place in the Champions League last 16, his future at the club has been questioned.
Kompany, however, remains unfazed by the pressure, explaining that he has been used to high expectations since his youth days at Anderlecht and later at Manchester City.
“I’ve always been involved in football in high-demanding places. By the time I arrived at top-level football, that was already a big part of me,” he said.
With Harry Kane scoring 29 goals in 33 appearances this season, Bayern are on course for silverware.
However, it remains to be seen whether the England captain will continue under Kompany beyond one full campaign.
