Lewandowski triggers Barcelona contract extension until 2026

Robert Lewandowski has secured a contract extension at Barcelona after meeting a key milestone in the club’s recent 2-0 win over Las Palmas.
According to Sport, the Polish striker had a clause in his deal allowing Barça to terminate his contract in 2025 if he played less than 55% of matches.
However, his regular involvement under Hansi Flick ensured that his contract automatically extended until 2026.
The 36-year-old has been in top form since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2022, scoring 91 goals in 130 appearances.
With 32 goals already this season, he is on track to surpass his best tally (33) for the club.
Despite speculation about retirement, Lewandowski appears set to continue at the highest level, with reports suggesting he could finish his illustrious career at Barcelona.
The veteran forward is expected to feature in Barça’s upcoming Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
