Arsenal, Liverpool’s Champions League draw strengthens England’s bid for extra UCL spot

English teams have received a major boost in the race for an extra Champions League spot following the quarter-final draw.
With Arsenal, Liverpool, and Aston Villa still in the competition, all three clubs have been placed on the same side of the draw, increasing the chances of an all-English semi-final.
This could significantly boost England’s UEFA co-efficient ranking, which determines the allocation of Champions League places.
England currently leads the rankings with 106.6 points, ahead of Italy (93.4) and Spain (89.1).
The top two nations will receive an extra Champions League spot next season.
Spain faces a disadvantage with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid drawn against each other, limiting their potential points gain.
Germany has a similar situation, with Bayern Munich set to face Bayer Leverkusen.
With multiple English teams progressing deep into the competition, England is well-positioned to secure a fifth Champions League spot, which would be awarded to the team finishing fifth in the Premier League this season.
