De Bruyne’s late winner seals Man City’s FA Cup comeback against Leyton Orient

Kevin De Bruyne came off the bench to secure Manchester City’s narrow 2-1 victory over Leyton Orient in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.

The League One side took a stunning lead in the first half when Jamie Donley struck from 50 yards, with his effort bouncing off the crossbar and deflecting in off City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

Pep Guardiola’s side struggled to respond, with Jack Grealish, James McAtee, and Omra Marmoush all failing to convert chances before halftime.

City equalized in the second half in fortunate fashion as Abdukodir Khusanov unknowingly diverted Rico Lewis’ shot into the net.

With extra time looming, De Bruyne produced a moment of quality, running onto a Grealish pass and finishing past Josh Keeley to seal City’s place in the next round.

Orient pushed for a late equalizer, with Dan Happe volleying over in stoppage time, but City held on for the win.
