Chelsea star set for loan move to Santos, joining Neymar at Brazilian club

Chelsea’s Deivid Washington is set to leave the club on loan and return to Santos, the club where he began his career, after struggling for game time at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian playmaker, who joined Chelsea for £17.1million in the summer of 2023, has made only three appearances for the Blues, all in cup competitions.

Now, at just 19 years old, Washington is set for a season-long loan back to Santos, according to Ben Jacobs.

The move follows Santos’ aim to bring Neymar back to the club, as the Brazilian superstar is nearing a return after terminating his contract with Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Neymar, who had an underwhelming stint in the Middle East, previously spent four successful years at Santos, scoring 136 goals in 225 appearances before moving to Barcelona.

His return to Brazil will see him link up with Washington at the top of the Brazilian league.
