Real Betis near loan deal for Manchester United’s Antony
Real Betis are finalizing a loan agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Brazilian winger Antony until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
The deal, which is in its final stages, includes no option or obligation to buy the player permanently.
Antony, who moved to Manchester United from Ajax in 2022 for a hefty £82 million, has struggled to meet expectations, recording only 12 goals and 5 assists across 95 appearances.
This season, he has not started a single Premier League game under manager Ruben Amorim.
The agreement stipulates that Manchester United will contribute to Antony’s salary, which is currently around £200,000 per week, to ease the financial burden on Real Betis.
The move is seen as an opportunity for Antony to rebuild his form and confidence in a new environment, away from the pressures of Old Trafford.
Real Betis, managed by Manuel Pellegrini, have been looking to enhance their squad for the latter part of the LaLiga season.
They believe securing a player of Antony’s potential could significantly boost their attacking options.
