Why I won’t leave my husband if he cheats, marries new wife – Kate Eze
A Nigerian woman, Kate Chinagorom Eze, has sparked mixed reactions after declaring that she would not leave her marriage if her husband marries a second wife or fathers a child outside their union.
Taking to Facebook on Thursday, January 16, Eze addressed critics who questioned her glowing account of her marriage while taking jabs at women who leave their relationships due to infidelity or marital conflicts.
It all started when she wrote, “Your Father wasn’t a saint but your mother stayed to give you sanity. Now you want your husband to be a saint in human form. If I have counselled 50 women, 45 started with I want to leave my marriage. Today, they are happier and grateful they didn’t leave.”
This was followed by the response from a social media user who wasn’t satisfied with her stance, condemning Kate’s advice because her marriage is working.
The critic wrote, “Because your marriage is working you think other women are like you? Because your husband hasn’t announce on social media that he’s taking a second wife because she already has a child for him is that why you’re rubbing your successful marriage in other people’s faces?
“Be happy that your husband is a responsible man who will do nothing to disrespect you. Stop being arrogant and lower your shoulders cuz no woman choose to leave her marriage but life happens.”
Defending her stan point, Eze argued that her husband, being an Igbo and African man, is culturally allowed to marry another wife, adding that such actions are not considered taboo in Igbo tradition.
Why ma marriage to an Igbo man worked
“Why do some women always think that my husband getting married to another woman, Cheating on me or having a child outside is a dea–th sentence???😄😄😄
“So they are quick to remind me of how he will do these things 😄😄
Honestly, some of you don’t know how prepared I am for marriage
Dear commenter, ALL YOU STATED CAN’T MAKE ME LEAVE MY MARRIAGE INUGO
“He is an Igbo Man
He is an African Man
Having a second wife or a child outside is not a taboo in Igbo land

She emphasized that the scenarios mentioned by critics would not compel her to leave her marriage.
