DSS arrests blogger for cloning official website and scamming job seekers

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a 32-year-old blogger, Sylvester Victor Augustus, for allegedly cloning its official website to execute a fraudulent recruitment scheme.

According to reports, Augustus, a content creator and graduate of the University of Uyo, was apprehended on Thursday at his residence on Akpan Eno Street in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The DSS revealed that the suspect created a fake version of its official website to advertise a non-existent recruitment exercise, targeting unsuspecting individuals with false promises of job opportunities.
