The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his bold and inspirational leadership.
In his Christmas message to Nigerians, Olukoyede attributed the EFCC’s achievements over the past 18 months to the President’s unwavering political will and support.
Reflecting on the significance of the season, he highlighted the values of light, joy, hope, truth, and liberty brought by Christ, noting that these principles serve as a foundation for integrity and a zero-tolerance approach to corruption.
He stated, “I deeply believe in our nation’s potential for growth and development. The Christmas season provides an opportunity to embrace these possibilities. If we adopt the values of light, joy, hope, truth, and liberty, we can build a Nigeria free of corruption and financial crimes. Together, we can make Nigeria greater.”
Olukoyede emphasized that President Tinubu’s firm stance against corruption is evident and has been pivotal to the EFCC’s progress. “Nigerians can clearly see that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is resolute in addressing corrupt practices. The achievements of the EFCC would not have been possible without his active support and courage, which we deeply appreciate,” he said.
The EFCC chairman also praised the Judiciary for its professionalism, integrity, and dedication, which he described as vital to the commission’s anti-corruption efforts. He encouraged the judiciary to remain steadfast on its path of justice and equity.
Furthermore, Olukoyede acknowledged the contributions of the media, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders, commending their unwavering engagement with the EFCC.
Looking ahead, he expressed confidence that their continued collaboration would lead to even greater strides in combating corruption in the coming year.
