‘We have new challenge here’ – Amorim addresses Rashford’s exit claims
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has dismissed suggestions of Marcus Rashford leaving Old Trafford.
The new United boss insists that the striker is already in the right place to face his next challenge.
Rashford recently hinted at wanting a “new challenge” during an interview after being dropped alongside Alejandro Garnacho for United’s derby win over Manchester City.
However, Amorim remains optimistic about Rashford’s future with the club and believes the England international still has much to offer at Old Trafford.
Addressing the situation, Amorim said: “I think he’s right – we have a new challenge here, and it’s one of the biggest in football.
“Manchester United is one of the world’s largest clubs, and navigating through this period is a massive challenge for all of us.”
While speculation continues to swirl around Rashford’s future with Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Arabian clubs among potential suitors, Amorim emphasized his intent to retain the forward.
“This kind of club needs big talent, and Marcus is a big talent,” Amorim added. “My focus is on helping him perform at his highest level.
“I haven’t spoken to him yet because the players had a day off, but he is our player, and he’s ready for the next game,” he added.
