Chelsea open to Chukwuemeka January loan amid interest from Crystal Palace, Ipswich
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to allow Carney Chukwuemeka to leave on loan during the January transfer window.
Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, and AC Milan are among clubs linked to the English midfielder.
According to The Mirror, the 21-year-old’s potential departure depends on Chelsea’s willingness to cover a portion of his wages, a hurdle that prevented his exit in the summer.
Chukwuemeka’s high salary has complicated moves, despite interest from several clubs.
Crystal Palace, long-time admirers of the England youth international of Nigerian descent, were close to signing him during the last transfer window.
AC Milan, Celtic, and Ipswich Town have also expressed interest.
Chukwuemeka has struggled for game time under Enzo Maresca, who prefers a double-pivot system that doesn’t align with the midfielder’s style.
The youngster has made just one start this season, in Chelsea’s 3-1 Europa Conference League win over FC Astana, where he was substituted in the second half.
