Lady hires housekeeper who used broom to gently guide moth outside without harm during interview
A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after she hired a housekeeper for showing kindness to a moth during an interview.
The incident occurred when a moth flew into the room, and instead of killing it, the housekeeper gently guided it outside using a broom.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lady explained the encounter, stating:
“I was interviewing a housekeeper, and in the middle of the interview, a moth flew into the room. I was startled, although Iām generally okay with insects (outdoors). They picked up the lobby broom and, instead of trying to kill the moth, gently guided it back outside. Hired.”
Her post quickly gained attention, with many users flooding the comment section to share their thoughts on her decision.

@OgbeniJayBee: “I go fail that test for sure. The probability is high that I would stomp on it, pick it up, then drown it in the toilet for 2FA. Village people come in different forms nowadays.”
@Ofochebe: “Did you stop to think if the moth was her fellow witch who came to check how the interview was going? Now, you’ve gone to hire a witch !!!”
@I_Zebz: “Itās actually a good reason because why on earth will you want to kill a Moth? You can as well kill a butterfly.”
@FabianOkeke3: “Lol this housekeeper understands his job very well. This housekeeper understands the hiring manager. This hiring manager did enough research on the proposed job so for me.. it’s well deserved.”
@9jamade_me: “My kind of person. I donāt like people killing animal, especially animals thatās are not for food or harmless.”
@DedekeAlexis1: “How about Cockroaches? Would you extend the same grace? Because I might not be getting hired, lol.”
@ItzDayo: “A part of me think you are being biased. Would this story go this same way if it was a cockroach or rat?”
@ClemenceVincen4: “Naso I for use over Sabi lose the job cos I go too kill am š I go even pray immediately Infront of you cos thats an agent of Satan.”
