American woman laments lack of proper suya abroad, calls steak a ‘mistake’
An American woman who has lived in Nigeria for over 18 years has expressed her frustration at being unable to find authentic suya abroad, claiming the versions she’s tried taste like a “mistake.”
In a video shared on her TikTok page, she lamented the absence of proper roadside suya spots outside Nigeria.
According to her, there are no Aboki vendors selling the iconic delicacy, and the steak options available abroad fall short of the original flavor.
She said, “I don taya to dey buy fake suya for Yankee, I never see Aboki wey dey sell proper suya dor roadside for Yankee. the one Wey dey pain me pass na people Wey dey sell steak wey dey taste like mistake.”
