‘Documents ready for Man City to announce Guardiola’s new deal’ – Fabrizio Romano

Manchester City are set to announce a new deal for manager Pep Guardiola, extending his tenure until June 2026.

The deal comes with an option to further extend until 2027.

All documents have been approved by Guardiola and his backroom staff, finalizing the agreement.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that City never sought alternative managers during negotiations.

“Manchester City never contacted any other coach as they were always confident of keeping Pep Guardiola,” Romano revealed.

He also dismissed rumours linking the club to Xabi Alonso or Rúben Amorim, stating there were no discussions with the two.

Despite Txiki Begiristain, City’s Director of Football, planning to leave in 2025, the club maintained faith in Guardiola’s commitment.

Guardiola, who has overseen a highly successful stint at City, reportedly agreed on Monday to remain for at least another season under the new terms.
