Despite the loss, it had no impact on Nigeria’s qualification for AFCON 2025, as the three-time African champions had already secured their spot in the upcoming tournament.

They also finished top of Group D with three wins, two draws, and one loss.

Rwanda’s victory marked a positive end to their qualifying campaign, and trailed Nigeria for a spot in the next edition of the AFCON.
