La Liga side target Chelsea starlet Cesare Casadei for January loan move
Real Betis are reportedly eyeing Chelsea’s young midfielder Cesare Casadei as a potential reinforcement in the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old has been identified as a solution to Betis’ midfield crisis, which has been further exposed by injuries to William Carvalho, Marc Roca and Johnny Cardoso.
According to Tuttomercatoweb (via Estadio Deportivo), Casadei, who has also drawn interest from Villarreal, could be available for a loan move.
With limited opportunities at Chelsea, a switch to the Benito Villamarin would offer the Italian a chance for regular first-team football under coach Manuel Pellegrini.
Betis have been in search of a midfielder since their unsuccessful summer attempt to re-sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.
Adding Casadei on a temporary basis is expected to provide immediate cover while allowing time for the injured players.
The deal could also suit Chelsea, who are likely to be open to a loan move for Casadei to aid his development.
