Disagreement is not an attack on Peter Obi – Pastor Emmanuel Iren
Apologizes to Nigerians over comments on Obi
The founder and Senior Pastor of Celebration Church International (CCI), Emmanuel Iren has stated that disagreement is not an attack, even as he apologizes to Nigerians.
The Pastor, in a statement via his verified handle on X, tendered an apology to Nigerians who were triggered by his comments on Peter Obi‘s take on the church and how it affects productivity in Nigeria.
Recall that the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election had left many talking after his visit to the Honest Bunch Podcast where he had claimed politics and the church are the only ventures productive in the country.
The former Anambra State Governor had also noted that because of this many Nigerians are not productive as they have abandoned night shifts for consistent night vigils and church attendance.
This comment resulted in an outrage from Christians who challenged the statement, describing it as false.
In a fresh development, Pastor Iren, while delivering a sermon on Sunday, urged his congregants to disregard such take and not allow it deter them from serving God.
He also stated that Obi blew it out of proportion, maintaining that there is no church in the country where people attend vigil on a daily basis.
The now viral clip has sparked reactions on social media as some are applauding him for saying the truth while many others are of the opinion that he misunderstood Obi.
In response to this, the Pastor Irene stated that he is an Obi supporter, noting that the fact that he agrees with him on political issues, does not mean he will keep shut when the church is being ridiculed.
He further apologized to those who misunderstood him, stressing that he is an advocate of productivity and spirituality.

These days, one has to clarify everything because most of us see everything to the lenses of our bias. Few things to note.
