Nigerians gather to celebrate Donald Trump’s win as 47th U.S. president
Nigerians massively take to the streets to celebrate the victory of the 47th president of the United States, Donald Trump who was recently re-elected to rule the country.
This came after Donald Trump, the Republican candidate and former U.S. President emerged victorious in the 2024 presidential election, defeating Kamala Harris, the Democratic contender who sought to become the first female president.
In a viral video making the rounds online, Nigerians could be seen with placards, singing and celebrating the re-election of the politician who once served as the 45th president of the US.
They could be heard singing, “Thank you, Jesus, we are grateful.”
The video has since generated backlash from Nigerian users who condemned the act as unwarranted and embarrassing.
A social media user @Mwdonly opined, “They should be arrested for flying the flag of another country in Nigeria.”
Another user @BFolaa stated, “Na NGO work be that, e go get one origination (group of people) wey go arrange these people so that they can earn from the white….The organization only need their Photos and Videos as evidence. They will later give all these people one rubber of rice to compensate them.”
