Erik ten Hag breaks silence after sack, pens emotional letter to Man United fans
Days after his dismissal, former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has issued a heartfelt farewell letter to the club’s fans.
Ten Hag’s departure follows a challenging spell in which United managed just one win in their last eight games, leading to a 2-1 loss to West Ham.
The Dutchman thanked fans for their unwavering support, highlighting the passion they brought to every match, home or away.
“The atmosphere at Old Trafford has always been electrifying, thanks to you,” he wrote.
He praised the global fanbase, saying, “Whether the game was in England, Europe, or during summer tours, hearing the United chants taking over opponents’ stadiums gave the team and me an incredible feeling.”
Ten Hag acknowledged the two trophies won under his leadership and his desire to achieve more, though admitting his dreams were cut short.
“Of course, my dream was to bring more trophies to the cabinet. Unfortunately, that dream has come to an end,” he noted.
While Ten Hag’s era has ended, United have confirmed the appointment of Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim as his successor.
Known for his success with Sporting CP, Amorim is set to start on November 11.
Ten Hag ended his letter by wishing the club success, leaving fans with a sense of respect for the future under new management.
