Manchester United eye Ruben Amorim as possible replacement for Ten Hag
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is charting a fresh course for Manchester United, with Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim emerging as a prime target for the head coach role.
Ratcliffe’s restructuring, including the addition of sporting director Dan Ashworth, CEO Omar Berrada, and technical director Jason Wilcox, aims to bring stability back to the club.
Regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young coaches, Amorim, 39, was previously linked to Liverpool and Manchester City.
He led Sporting to it first league title in nearly two decades and has kept them at the top this season.
His approach, which includes a 3-4-3 formation emphasizing wing-backs, aligns with Ratcliffe’s focus on a more tactical, intelligent game plan.
This marks a shift from Erik ten Hag’s turbulent tenure, where inconsistency and costly transfers, such as the high-profile signing of Antony, left United struggling in both domestic and European competitions.
