Benteke claims MLS Golden Boot, outshines Messi, Suárez

DC United striker Christian Benteke has won the 2024 MLS Golden Boot, finishing the season with 23 goals.

The Belgian forward outscored Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, who both tallied 20 goals each.

Benteke’s victory marks a major achievement for DC United, as he becomes the third player from the club to win the award, following Dwayne De Rosario (2011) and Luciano Emilio (2007).

In his two-and-a-half seasons in MLS, Benteke has accumulated 38 goals and 11 assists.

His performances have included 228 shots and 852 aerial duels across 68 league matches.

Benteke’s impressive campaign further establishes him as a key player in the league, adding to his growing MLS legacy.
