EPL: Kudus suffer red as Tottenham hammer 10-man West Ham 4-1

Tottenham Hotspur delivered a crushing second-half performance to defeat West Ham 4-1, piling pressure on Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui.

Three of Spurs’ goals in the Premier League clash came within a seven-minute spell early in the second half at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

West Ham had started brightly, taking the lead and silencing the home crowd in the first half.

However, Dejan Kulusevski’s equalizer in the 36th minute shifted grounds in Tottenham’s favour.

Despite the late pressure, West Ham held on to a 1-1 scoreline going into halftime.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou made a bold halftime decision, substituting the usually influential James Maddison.

The move paid off as Spurs came out firing, with an own goal by Alphonse Areola followed by strikes from Son Heung-Min and Yves Bissouma within the first 15 minutes of the second half.

The match spiraled further out of West Ham’s control when Mohamed Kudus was sent off following a VAR review for clashing with Tottenham’s Mickey Van de Ven, leaving the visitors with ten men.
