Employer blocks job seeker after he reveals his nationality
A Nigerian man recently took to social media to share a heartbreaking experience of being rejected and blocked by an employer for a video editor position after disclosing his nationality.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he detailed his conversation with the employer.
The young man had privately messaged the employer to express interest in the advertised role.
After showing his interest, the employer asked for his age and location. Upon revealing he was Nigerian, he was unexpectedly rejected and blocked.
He captioned his post with the poignant statement: “I hate that I am Nigerian to some extent.”
As the post gained traction online, many concerned individuals flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts and support.
