Ahmed Musa demands CAF investigates Libya’s ‘unjust treatment’ of Super Eagles
Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has expressed strong displeasure over the mistreatment of the Super Eagles by Libyan authorities.
Recall the Nigerian team were left stranded at Al Abaq Airport for several hours, leading them to boycott the scheduled AFCON 2025 qualifier match against the Mediterranean Knights.
Musa took to X to condemn the incident, calling for action from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
“I’m extremely disappointed by the unjust treatment of the Super Eagles, the NFF officials, as well as dignitaries in Libya,” Musa wrote.
“This is not sportsmanship, and I want @CAF_Online to intervene and investigate this incident,” adding “I stand with the players in this difficult time.”
Meanwhile, the Nigerian team has since left Libya, following their decision to withdraw from the match, while CAF has yet to comment on the situation.
