AFCON 2025Q: Super Eagles depart for Libya clash in Benghazi
The Super Eagles left Nigeria on Sunday morning for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier second leg against Libya.
The team are set to face the Mediterranean Knights on matchday four of the qualifiers.
Initially scheduled to fly into Tripoli and travel by road to Benghazi, the team altered their plans to avoid unnecessary strain.
Instead, they boarded a chartered flight, with a brief stopover in Kano, before continuing to Benghazi.
The Super Eagles will play at the 10,000-capacity stadium in Benina, which is located just 10 kilometers from Benghazi.
The crucial match is set to kick off at 8 p.m. Nigeria time on Tuesday, with Augustine Eguavoen’s men hoping to keep their clean slate in Group D.
Recall the AFCON finalists secured a late 1-0 win against Libya in Uyo on Friday, keeping them top of their group.
