“I feel at ease” – Fernandes hints contentment playing for Portugal than Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has shed light on the contrasting experiences he faces between his club and national team.
Speaking to ESPN, Fernandes, 30, reflected on United’s challenging season while expressing his contentment when playing for Portugal.
“It’s not a positive moment [at United]. We’re not winning games.” In contrast, he described his time with the Portugal national team as a much-needed reprieve.
“The dynamics are very good. I’m in my country, speaking my language, with better food. I feel at ease and enjoy my football at a high level.”
Despite the turmoil at United, Fernandes decided to extend his contract with United until 2027, even with offers from clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
His struggles at Old Trafford are evident, having failed to score this season and facing disciplinary issues with two red cards—one later overturned.
