Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen, remains confident ahead of Nigeria’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.

While acknowledging the Mediterranean Knights as a tough opponent, Eguavoen is optimistic that his team will secure victory in Friday’s match in Uyo.

The Super Eagles currently lead Group D with four points from two games, positioning themselves as favorites.

However, Eguavoen stressed that Libya, sitting at the bottom of the group with one point, will be determined to fight for a result.

“They are aware of their position, and we are aware of ours,” Eguavoen said in an interview with the Super Eagles media team.

“They will come here and fight, but our focus is on securing the three points.”

Eguavoen praised his squad’s preparedness, mentioning that there are no injuries, and all players are in high spirits ahead of the match.

“It’s going to be tough, but the boys are in good spirit. Everyone is ready,” he added.

With three points in their sights, Nigeria hopes to strengthen it position in the race for AFCON 2025 qualification.
