Ten Hag dismisses rift rumours with Rashford, slams Redknapp’s “crazy” speculation

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has dismissed rumours of a falling out with Marcus Rashford, labeling the claims as “crazy”.

Rashford was dropped from the starting lineup in United’s goalless draw against Crystal Palace.

Following this, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp suggested that Rashford’s omission hinted at an underlying issue between the player and his boss.

“It feels like something untoward has gone on,” Redknapp said.

Recall Rashford had scored three goals in his previous two matches, including two in the midweek 7-0 win over Barnsley in the League Cup.

In response, Ten Hag hit out at the speculation. “As a person, you are not OK when you bring such speculation if you don’t know. This has nothing to do with it,” he said.

“I’m very happy with Marcus. He’s performing very well,” The manager clarified.

He added that Rashford’s benching was purely rotational. “We have many games to cover.”
