#EdoDecides2024: Labour Party governorship candidate Akpata casts his vote

Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for governor of Edo State, has cast his ballot in the current election.
After voting at his Oredo polling place, Akpata told reporters he was sure he would win.

He continued by saying that the turnout, which he characterized as remarkable, had impressed him.

The Labour Party governorship candidate said victory was certain in the election because, according to him, the Edo voters are hungry for change.

He said, “I am impressed with the turnout. The people are hungry for change. I am hoping that those who are superintending the process should allow the will of the people to prevail.”

Asked if he was confident of victory, he said, “We’ve got this one.”

In a related development, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo, has cast his vote in the ongoing election.

Okpebholo, after voting, said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is getting the Edo gubernatorial election right.

The APC governorship candidate spoke with reporters on Saturday after casting his ballot at PU003, Uwessan 1, Esan Central LGA in Edo.

The senator who represents Edo central said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would not get a single vote at his polling unit because his people love him.
